W Hotels has officially arrived in Saudi Arabia with the opening of W Riyadh – KAFD, marking the brand’s first property in the Kingdom and adding another name to the capital’s growing luxury hotel map.
Set inside the King Abdullah Financial District, the hotel is positioned in one of Riyadh’s newer urban hubs where business, dining and lifestyle spaces overlap. The opening brings 210 rooms and suites into circulation, including penthouses with wide city views and interiors that pull from local references rather than leaning into generic luxury cues.
Design by LW Design draws on Najdi patterns, woven textures and sculptural details across the public spaces. The lobby sets the tone immediately with open seating areas, layered materials and a large installation by Abdulnasser Gharem, while smaller design elements reference traditional craft in more subtle ways rather than overt statements. Across the rooms, colour accents and Arabic-English typography sit alongside marble, geometric patterns and soft lighting.
The larger suites expand into living and dining spaces, with the W Penthouse adding a gym, sauna and floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the city. More
