Jeddah Tower is on course to overtake Dubai’s 828-metre Burj Khalifa before its planned August 2028 completion. Saudi Arabia’s megatall reached about 430 metres and 107 floors by late July 2026.
Another 398 metres separates it from Burj Khalifa’s architectural height. Project engineers are targeting a final height above 1,000 metres.
Current site velocity provides the clearest indication of when the crossover occurs. Thornton Tomasetti has put recent vertical progress at about four metres per week.
A constant rate from 430 metres covers the remaining 398 metres in roughly 100 weeks. That calculation points to mid-July 2028. Project teams have not published an official date for passing 828 metres.
Engineering schedule narrows the crossover window
John Peronto, Managing Principal at Thornton Tomasetti, provided another timeline during June 2026. Peronto put the upper observation zone, around 630 metres, approximately 60 weeks away at the construction rate then achieved. That schedule places the structure near 630 metres around August 2027.
Jeddah Tower would still require another 198 metres from that level to equal Burj Khalifa. Published engineering timings consequently place the record threshold inside the final year before planned completion.
Kingdom Holding Company recorded a five-day floor cycle in its March 2026 earnings presentation. Jeddah Tower had reached Level 91 and about 370 metres at that stage.
Crews had poured more than 65,000 cubic metres of concrete, representing about half of the required total. Around 5,200 workers were operating across site workstreams.
Façade installation and MEP first fix activities were also progressing below the rising core. That sequencing means structural height can continue increasing while separate building packages advance on completed levels. More
