Expo 2030 Riyadh is progressing construction across its six million square metre site, with more than 42 million visits expected when the event opens in 2030.
New infrastructure contracts have been awarded as development advances, supporting delivery across one of the Kingdom’s largest projects and reinforcing Riyadh’s role in hosting global events.
Expo 2030 Riyadh has awarded two Main Utilities and Infrastructure Works packages to Al Yamama Company. The contracts follow the start of construction under a first package awarded to Nesma & Partners in December, marking continued progress across the site.
Talal Al-Marri, CEO of Expo 2030 Riyadh, said: “The awarding of two new Main Utilities and Infrastructure Packages marks a significant milestone as construction continues to advance at the Expo 2030 Riyadh site under previously awarded packages.
“It reinforces the strong and sustained momentum across every front – from infrastructure delivery and masterplan design to the awarding of building design contracts. We remain committed to partnering with specialised partners who share our standards for quality, sustainability, and environmental responsibility, ensuring the project’s delivery according to the approved timeline.”
The newly awarded works form part of a broader development programme moving forward across multiple phases. Construction and design are advancing in line with the project schedule, supported by a phased delivery approach.
Current works are focused on preparing the site for future development. This includes internal road networks, smart mobility systems and the installation of core utilities required to support later construction stages. More
