New contract advances work at Riyadh Expo 2030 site

Saudi Arabia has awarded a second infrastructure contract for the development of the 6-million-square-metre Expo 2030 site in Riyadh.

The deal was secured by Riyadh-based Al Yamama Company, the Expo 2030 Riyadh Company — wholly owned by the $1 trillion Public Investment Fund — said in a statement.

The contract’s value was not provided.

Nesma & Partners, another local contractor, was awarded the main utilities and civil works contract for the expo site in January.

Al Yamama will prepare the site for subsequent phases of development, including the construction of internal road networks and smart mobility operations, as well as the installation of core utility and infrastructure systems to support operations such as water, sewage, electricity, telecommunications and EV charging infrastructure.

These works are critical to ensuring site readiness and integration across all phases of delivery, in line with the timeline for Expo 2030 Riyadh, the statement said.

Talal Al-Marri, CEO of Expo 2030 Riyadh, said the new package reinforces strong and sustained momentum across every front – from infrastructure delivery and masterplan design to the awarding of building design contracts.
