Upswing in Marriott’s plans

Marriott International signed an agreement with Al Maryia Real Estate Establishment to open a Four Points by Sheraton in the capital city of Riyadh.

Marriott Hotels, the signature brand of Marriott International, and Marriott Executive Apartments, Marriott’s extended stay product, has hosted a spectacular event to celebrate the grand opening of the Marriott Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments Downtown Abu Dhabi.

The five-star Marriott Hotel Downtown Abu Dhabi features 315 spacious guest rooms and suites and Marriott’s signature meetings concept, ‘Meetings Imagined’. Set in Downtown Abu Dhabi, the hotel offers popular dining options such as JW Steakhouse, Velocity and Kuzbara, and a range of wellness options including the Saray Spa & Health Club and a rooftop swimming pool.

Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director, Middle East and Africa, Marriott International said: ‘We are excited to be opening at a time when the UAE continues to exceed expectations with its economic growth. With Abu Dhabi too staying firm on its growth path, we feel confident that our two unique product offerings can provide for an increasing number of business and leisure travellers to the capital.’

‘Saudi Arabia is considered one of Marriott International’s top-tier destinations in the Middle East and Africa. The company currently operates 20 properties in the country with almost 6,000 rooms, and by 2022 will bring on stream a further 34 properties with an additional 9,000 rooms,’ Kyriakidis informs TTN. ‘As well as ambitious expansion plans in Saudi Arabia, the company is expected to have a total of 130,000 to 140,000 rooms either operating or in the pipeline in the Middle East and Africa within five years.’

Marriott International signed an agreement with Al Maryia Real Estate Establishment to open a Four Points by Sheraton in the capital city of Riyadh. Scheduled to open in 2019, Four Points by Sheraton on King Abdul Aziz Road will offer 130 keys in the Sulaimaniyah district of the city. The Four Points brand is on track to open six properties in Saudi Arabia in the next five years.

In line with the brand’s promise, guests will be enjoy characteristic touches of Four Points by Sheraton defining touches, including the Four Points signature bed, wi-fi in all public areas, breakfast and other brand signature programmes.

Located in the Sulaimaniyah district in central Riyadh, the hotel will be no more than 15 minutes from King Fahd Road and Olaya Road, and within close proximity from the King Khalid International Airport, King Abdul-Aziz Metro Station and the King Abdullah Financial Center. More info
