NFT Specialized in Tower Cranes, along with Manitowoc’s Potain, has taken its ‘Safety First!’ campaign to Saudi Arabia focusing on the main contractors around the Riyadh Metro
The campaign began in 2016 in Dubai where NFT and Potain went across eight project sites across the city spreading tower crane safety and good practices.
In Riyadh, NFT’s sister company Arabian Towers Corporation (ATE) visited two major contractors in the Riyadh Metro project. On 9 May, ATE’s operations manager and general manager along with Potain’s sales director visited Arriyadh New Mobility – CWG, Qasr Al Hukum Down Town Station (3E2). The training was conducted on 33 personnel including operators, riggers, HSE staff and supervisors. The next day, the team visited Fast Consortium, one of three consortia contracted by Arriyadh Development Authority to design and build the Riyadh Metro Project, for Line 5 of the Riyadh Metro where NFT has erected 14 tower cranes including 8 x MC310K12, 2 x MC205, 2 x C235 and 2 x MD310K12.
“We are grateful for Manitowoc and ATE for promoting safety on our site. Until now we had no accidents reported on site and we want the safety culture of working with and around tower cranes to continue until the end of the project and beyond,” said HSE manager of Fast Consortium. He added, “The safety kit made by NFT and Potain is very useful and we are glad our staff will be carrying it.”
NFT and Potain will continue to spread safety around tower cranes across the GCC and the next stop is Kuwait. More
